The Henrietta Barnett School is seeking to appoint an excellent self‑employed Visiting Music Teacher (singing) to join our thriving music department from September 2026. We are looking for an experienced vocal teacher who has some experience of teaching students of secondary school age (11‑18). The role is advertised as two full days of one‑to‑one teaching but could be shared between two suitable candidates. Visiting music teachers are self‑employed and the contract for provision of lessons is between parents and the VMT. A VMT service agreement and arrangements for instrumental lessons are managed by the Music Administrator who acts to oversee the contractual arrangements between the VMT and parents.
Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one teaching sessions two days a week and direct the Chamber choir for students in years 9 and above.
- Prepare students for ABRSM exams and contribute to the wider music curriculum.
About You
- Experience of preparing students for ABRSM exams and of directing choirs, as this role also involves directing our Chamber choir for students in years 9 and above.
