Overview

The Henley College is seeking a motivated and ambitious Assistant Rugby Coach to support the delivery of our high-performance Rugby Programmes for both boys and girls. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a leading sixth form college rugby environment and to work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team. You will play a vital role in the planning and delivery of technical and tactical rugby coaching sessions, matchday support (including national travel), player development plans, and the wider operational success of the programme. From mentoring student‑athletes to supporting individual skill development and contributing to analysis, this is a hands‑on coaching role that requires energy, adaptability, and a student‑first approach. This role is ideal for a passionate rugby coach looking to develop within a performance‑focused, educational setting.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of England Rugby Coaching Award (ERCA, Level 2) or recognised equivalent
  • Experience coaching within performance or academy rugby environments
  • An understanding of talent identification and long-term player development principles
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, coaches and external stakeholders
  • A flexible, adaptable, and professional approach to working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team
  • A full driving licence and willingness to complete minibus training (if not already qualified)
