Shift Leader (Packaging)

Function: Supply Chain – Packaging

Location: Manchester

Salary: up to £43,000 p/a dependant on experience with £9,206 shift allowance & amazing benefits such as:

  • Annual bonus
  • Double-matched pension (up to 10%)
  • Annual Leave equivalent to 259 hours (inclusive of public holidays)
  • Life assurance

Contract: Permanent

Shift pattern: 4 On (2 days & 2 Nights) 4 Off

About The Role

As the Shift Leader, you’ll ensure our colleagues on the production line continue to exude brilliance in every task. With experience in managing people, you’ll engage your teams to support their professional and personal development, fostering collaboration with peers and adhering to Total Productive Management (TPM) principles.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Champion behavioural safety, hazard identification, and resolution to ensure safe working practices and achieve site safety targets.
  • Manage occupational health, wellbeing, and attendance to maintain a safe and effective workforce.
  • Drive high performance through effective communication, performance management, and regular development reviews.
  • Deliver departmental KPI targets to ensure optimum operational results.
  • Strengthen collaboration with TPM stakeholders and ensure correct application of TPM principles.
  • Lead and promote participation in Autonomous Maintenance and loss reduction activities to sustain performance.
  • Develop team capability through structured training and assessment programmes.

About The Team

As a Supply Chain colleague, you’ll be part of the biggest function in HEINEKEN UK. You’ll be based within the broader packaging team, focused on keeping bottling, canning and other lines running efficiently, ensuring machinery reliability, safety, and anticipating future needs.

  • Packaging and FMCG exposure: Previous experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • TPM Know‑How: Solid understanding of Total Productive Maintenance principles.
  • People Management Skills: Proven track record of leading teams with a supportive, engaging leadership style.
  • Laser‑Focused on Safety: Solid commitment to health and safety with exceptional attention to detail.
