Responsibilities:
- Maintain the internal and external fabric of our pubs, ensuring they are safe and meet high standards of condition and sustainability.
- Manage budgets, working closely with colleagues, suppliers, contractors and lessees/tenants to make sound decisions.
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance and improvement of multiple buildings, including reactive repairs, planned maintenance, capital investment and dilapidations.
- Communicate effectively with new and existing pub operators, helping them understand repair obligations and the dilapidations process.
- Lead health and safety compliance, manage third‑party contractors, and see projects through to completion.
- Operate across the Midlands region, collaborating with the Southern Regional Property Controller and the wider team.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in property with multi‑site responsibilities.
- Familiarity with reactive repairs, planned maintenance, capital investment and dilapidations.
- Formal qualifications in building surveying or facilities management (e.g., RICS qualified Building Surveyor, CIOB chartered, BSc in building surveying) or a proven track record of managing projects/repairs and maintenance across a multi‑site portfolio.
- Evidence of successful budget control and project delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with operators, lessees and contractors.
- Experience in a compliance‑heavy environment, managing third parties and navigating complex challenges.
- Organised, proactive, strong communicator with the resilience to work at pace and make decisive decisions under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence (with at least 3 months of professional driving experience preferred; driver training will be provided).
