You will be a key coordination point for accounting processes performed by the Pubs finance team in Edinburgh and will business‑partner with other internal teams such as Process Control & Improvement, Internal Audit and Digital & Technology. Extensive collaboration with external auditors will also be required, supporting Heineken’s ongoing Global Digital Backbone project.

  • Lead period‑end close activities and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Design and establish best‑practice processes following ERP implementation.
  • Coordinate accounting processes for the Pubs finance team.
  • Business‑partner with Process Control & Improvement, Internal Audit, and Digital & Technology.

Qualifications

  • Accountant, possibly a new graduate or part‑qualified with experience in internal and external financial reporting.
  • Experience of period‑end close processes and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of IFRS or UK GAAP/FRS 101 accounting standards.

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, large data manipulation).
  • Excellent analytical skills with an enquiring mindset.
  • Motivated by continuous process and control improvement and efficiency.

Additional Skills Beneficial

  • Experience with a major ERP system (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Business Central) or other sub‑ledger system.
  • Involvement in a prior system migration, implementation, or major upgrade.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data integrity principles.
  • Experience within FMCG or a large organisation.

Benefits

  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • Company‑funded private medical healthcare.
