About the role – what does an Estate Manager do?

Being an Estates Manager at Star Pubs is about more than property—it’s about having a strategic vision for the estate, optimising profit streams, and building asset value. You’ll work closely with other Estates Managers as the regional operations team’s go-to property expert, bringing expertise in Landlord and Tenant law and the Pubs Code Regulations. Reporting to the Estates Team Leader, you’ll provide expert advice on asset management, overseeing a portfolio of around 150 sites across the London and Northern Home Counties region. You’ll drive estate value through rental negotiations and development opportunities, working both independently and as part of a team. Most importantly, you’ll enjoy engaging with people.

Your responsibilities include managing rent events, negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals, and ensuring the best terms for new lets and capex schemes for both Star Pubs and our customers.

Who we’re looking for:

We work in a regulated environment and ensure we have consistent ways of working across all our regions, so you’ll need to be exceptionally well-planned and organised with great attention to detail. You’ll draw upon your well-honed negotiation skills for a wide range of challenges in this role, including managing Market Rent Options which involve detailed negotiations with our licensees. This role would pose a great change and challenge for somebody who has managed multi-sites and is experienced in rent review programs (ideally using the profits method of valuation and is MRICS qualified). A great part of your role will involve influencing others, as well as coaching and supporting our Business Development Managers on rent negotiations. You’ll be the champion of Estates matters, taking ownership of in-house training of best practices. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. Ideally, you’ll have at least 3 months of professional driving experience, but if you don't, that's fine. We'll provide full on-road driver training during your first few months with us.
