Overview

Business Development Manager – West Midlands for Star Pubs, part of HEINEKEN UK. Field-based role covering the West Midlands region. Location to be in or near the area to support work-life balance. Salary: circa £55,000 base, plus full benefits. Closing Date: Sunday 19th October 2025. Contract: Permanent.

About the role

As a Business Development Manager at Star Pubs, you’ll manage around 35 pubs within the West Midlands region (exact patch depending on the successful candidate). You will work with a dedicated support team to build strong relationships with operators and lessees, delivering tailored business plans and a high-quality customer experience. This is a commercially focused generalist role with flexibility to plan your diary and balance work with life. You’ll collaborate with a virtual team including Pub Operations, Estates Managers, and the Property Team to recruit lessees, review commercial terms, and roll out brand and marketing initiatives.

You’ll own the P&L for each pub in your portfolio, driving financial performance, managing costs, and ensuring profitability. You’ll identify opportunities to optimise revenue streams and efficiency to deliver strong results. You’ll design and implement innovative retail solutions that impact the consumer experience, empowered by your understanding of retail or hospitality. Prior experience in the pub sector is a bonus, but candidates from other industries with strong commercial acumen are welcome.

This role focuses on development and coaching rather than pure sales, and suits candidates with previous area/regional operational management experience.
