Overview
Business Development Manager β Cumbria & Lakes. Location: Field-based role β Cumbria and Lake District. Permanent, full-time. Salary: circa Β£55,000 base, plus full benefits. Closing Date: Sunday 21st September 2025.
HEINEKEN and Star Pubs are looking for a brilliant person to support our pub operators to grow sustainable businesses and deliver strong commercial results while focusing on customer experience and community impact.
Responsibilities
- Manage around 35 pubs within the Cumbria and Lake District region, working with a dedicated support team to build strong relationships with operators and lessees.
- Own the P&L for each pub in your portfolio, driving financial performance, managing costs, and ensuring profitability.
- Design and implement innovative retail solutions to enhance the customer journey and drive profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Pub Operations, Estates Managers, Property Team) to create and execute tailored business plans for each pub.
- Recruit new lessees, drive the letting of pubs, review commercial terms, and roll out brand and marketing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to optimise revenue streams and increase efficiency across your portfolio.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in retail, hospitality, or business development.
- Strong experience with P&L management and driving financial performance.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and balance commercial delivery with long-term partnerships.
- Strategic thinking with the confidence to take bold decisions that grow profitability.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Experience in the pub sector is a bonus, but candidates from other industries with the right commercial acumen and customer focus are welcome.
