Derbyshire's multi award-winning visitor attraction is looking for premier people to join the team. We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, self-motivated person to join our operational management team.
What's Involved?
- Visitor Engagement: You'll assist in coaching and leading our Cave Guide, Costumed Character and Summit Host Team; actively involved in delivering tours, developing engagement opportunities and providing informed welcomes to our visitors.
- Duty Management: Key holder duties: Opening and closing the estate, being responsible for general site security. Dealing face to face with visitor enquiries. Troubleshooting operational issues with tills, IT and visitor facilities: you'll have a practical approach to problem solving. Act as a Duty First Aider (you'll either hold a First Aid at Work qualification or be prepared to train once appointed). Using 4x4 vehicles to transport supplies, team and recycling around site. Cashing up tills and banking at the end of the day.
- Site safety and presentation: Help lead the Guide & Estates teams in achieving exemplary standards of health and safety compliance across our grounds, buildings, caves and playgrounds. Ensuring all summit-side checks are completed and recorded. Assist with Health & Safety administration and team training. Maintain a culture where high standards of site presentation are continually met. Ensure summit contractors work effectively and safely. Ensure our waste and recycling operations run smoothly.
- Driving sales: Always be looking for opportunities to enhance secondary spend across our retail and visitor experience departments. Supporting retail teams on the shop floor, as well as ensuring back office and stock systems are well maintained.
Have you got what it takes to hit The Heights?
You'll have proven experience in running a busy outdoor visitor attraction and delivering a first class experience, together with supervising or managing multi departmental teams. You'll be self-motivated, reliable, trusted to get on with the job in hand. You'll be practically minded. If you spot a problem or issue, you'll be able to either resolve it yourself, or be proactive in seeking support. You'll have a proven background in managing safety, ideally in an outdoor recreational environment. You'll have a holistic approach to leadership, unafraid to roll your sleeves up and assist other departments when needed. The role involves driving 4x4s around a challenging site; you'll be a confident driver with at least five years' experience and a clean license. You'll be IT literate with experience in till use and cash handling. Due to the nature of the role & steep terrain at The Heights you'll be reasonably fit and mobile. We're busiest at weekends, school and public holidays, so you'll be able to work at these peak times.
