Salary Range: Grade E – Between FTE £27,362 – £33,898 / Actual £20,956 – £25,916 + SEN Allowance – Cost of living pay uplift pending from 1 April 2026 (subject to agreement).

Contract: Full time, Permanent, Term-Time Only

Overview: The Heights Academy opened in September 2023 in a brand-new build and offers a unique opportunity to be part of the next stage of growth and development. Initially there are pupils in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, and over time the school will expand to cater for 116 pupils across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. All pupils have an EHCP with a diagnosis of autism.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils across the school, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Supervise groups and occasionally whole classes for a session.
  • Provide a high standard of nurturing and education through quality interactions, developing strong authentic relationships with all children, including one‑to‑one support when required.
  • Be proactive, flexible and a reliable team player, offering support to colleagues when required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to enable all children to flourish, focusing on community needs.
  • Help children to make progress by working closely with an experienced team and external professionals, regularly giving feedback to class teachers, SLT and colleagues regarding progress and wellbeing.
  • Support pupils with a range of behavioural needs using effective strategies.
  • Ensure children receive an appropriate standard of care and support.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience is desirable.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK.
  • References from at least the last two employers.
  • Medical clearance where required.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure.
