We are looking for someone to join our team as an experienced accountant. This is a broad and varied finance position where you will support the day‑to‑day running of ARCOL’s financial operations alongside our global finance team. You’ll be responsible for a broad range of local accounting activities, including ledgers, cashbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC obligations, and statutory submissions and associated administration.
Working closely with our US team you will provide financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision making whilst taking ownership of core transactional tasks, as well as supplier/customer queries. You will manage your time well, prioritise effectively, and consistently meet deadlines. Your continuous‑improvement mindset will see you striving to streamline and enhance processes, support informed decision‑making, and contribute to the wider finance function with a collaborative and positive attitude.
About You
- Experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts position or similar
- Confident using accounting software (e.g. Sage)
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisation skills
- A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- AAT qualified
- Collaborative and supportive, trusted to handle confidential information and maintain high standards without supervision
- Confident to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines effectively
- Experience of inventory and/or cost accounting would be an advantage but not essential
- Commercially aware, with the ability to take an analytical approach to business performance
- Ideally you will have experience of payroll, as well as supporting month end processes
The role is full time, 40 hours week, including a paid lunch break of 30 minutes. Once you have settled into your role hybrid working is an option, we encourage applications for flexible working and are happy to discuss this with you. You will be reporting directly to our Ohmite Accounting Manager, based in Chicago, USA and working onsite with a supportive and friendly local team including production, sales, supply chain, operations, HR, quality and health and safety.
