Heart of England Events & Conferencing is seeking an organised, results-driven Office Sales Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the venue\’s internal sales office. This pivotal role will be responsible for maximising inbound and proactive sales opportunities, driving conversion rates and mentoring the Sales Executives and Sales Administrator.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute professional with a solid background in hospitality or events sales, excellent team leadership skills, and a proactive approach to driving revenue growth across multiple event sectors.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead, manage and develop the Sales Office team (Sales Executives and Sales Administrator) to ensure high standards of enquiry handling, conversion and client service.
·Ensure timely responses to all inbound sales enquiries across weddings, corporate events, conferencing, accommodation and private functions.
·Set and monitor KPIs for the sales team, holding weekly progress meetings and monthly performance reviews.
·Support training and development initiatives to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.
·Manage the allocation of leads and oversee the end-to-end enquiry process, from initial contact through to contract stage.
·Monitor daily enquiry levels, team performance and booking conversion rates, identifying opportunities for improvement.
·Drive incremental revenue by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the venue’s product offering.
·Analyse market trends and competitor pricing to maintain a competitive position.
·Maintain a strong presence in the sales office and act as the escalation point for high-value or complex bookings.
Client Relationship Management & Account Retention
·Maintain relationships with key clients, agencies and planners, ensuring continuity and repeat business.
·Oversee the delivery of site visits, show rounds and pre-event planning meetings.
·Ensure that the customer journey from enquiry to post-event feedback is delivered to the highest standard.
·Ensure CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot) are maintained accurately with timely data input and pipeline updates.
·Produce weekly and monthly sales reports, including enquiry sources, conversion statistics and revenue forecasts.
·Work closely with the Sales Administrator to ensure seamless communication with the Operations Team and accurate function sheets.
Collaboration with Marketing & Operations
·Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure seamless execution of events and client requirements.
·Provide feedback to enhance guest experiences and develop new service offerings.
·Work with the marketing team to develop targeted sales campaigns, promotions and lead generation initiatives.
Compliance & Internal Controls
·Take ownership of day-to-day compliance to ensure that operations adhere to legal, regulatory and company standards.
·Ensure all contracts, client data, documentation and correspondence are managed in line with GDPR and internal protocols.
·Maintain a clear audit trail of all sales-related activity, including signed agreements, pricing approvals and communication records.
·Assist with the preparation and response to internal audits or external compliance reviews.
Experience & Key Skills
·Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in hospitality, event, or venue sales.
·Prior experience in supervising or managing a small team within a sales environment.
·Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
·Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
·Ability to manage and prioritise multiple enquiries and deadlines effectively.
·Commercial awareness with a focus on maximising conversion and yield.
·Confident in handling client negotiations and delivering site visits.
·Positive and energetic attitude with a hands-on approach to leadership.
Working Conditions
Full-time position, with some flexibility required to meet clients and guests during evenings, weekends or bank holidays, depending on business needs
