Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Manager to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to children, in their daily activities and help them achieve their personal goals. You’ll provide guidance and support to other residential workers and be responsible for staff supervision.

About you

  • MUST hold a full UK Driving License
  • NVQ or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
  • Previous experience in a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager role in a Residential Children\’s Care Setting
  • Knowledge of the Children Act & Children\’s Homes Regulations

Responsibilities

  • In accordance with Channels and Choices health and safety policies and procedures, you are responsible for ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Ensure that you and your staff work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose and Function of the home. Understand, update and continuously improve relevant Channels and Choices documents to include The Statement of Purpose, Young Person\’s Guide, policies and practice standards; seeking approval and communicating changes to others as appropriate.
  • Responsible for keeping an up to date register of all young people being admitted, transitioned to another provision, and discharged from the service.
  • Ensure operational manning levels are maintained within the home. The registered manager must liaise with HR to arrange and assist in interviewing new staff.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children and their families.
  • Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Proficient in IT skills for maintaining records and facilitating communication.
