About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Children’s Manager to lead a children’s residential service, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role operates on a Mon - Fri work pattern, offering a structured schedule while maintaining a strong leadership presence within the home. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the home, staff leadership, and the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Registered Manager with Ofsted and maintain ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Provide strong, consistent leadership to the staff team
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children and young people
  • Manage care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
  • Oversee staff recruitment, supervision, training, and performance management
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and quality assurance documentation
  • Promote a positive, stable, and nurturing home environment
  • Liaise with local authorities, professionals, and external agencies
  • Manage incidents, complaints, and inspections effectively

Essential Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children’s legislation
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work long shifts
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

  • Experience managing an Ofsted-rated home
  • Experience supporting children with complex needs or challenging behaviour
  • Driver with access to a vehicle
