About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Children’s Manager to lead a children’s residential service, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role operates on a Mon - Fri work pattern, offering a structured schedule while maintaining a strong leadership presence within the home. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the home, staff leadership, and the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Registered Manager with Ofsted and maintain ongoing regulatory compliance
- Provide strong, consistent leadership to the staff team
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children and young people
- Manage care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Oversee staff recruitment, supervision, training, and performance management
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and quality assurance documentation
- Promote a positive, stable, and nurturing home environment
- Liaise with local authorities, professionals, and external agencies
- Manage incidents, complaints, and inspections effectively
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children’s legislation
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work long shifts
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Experience managing an Ofsted-rated home
- Experience supporting children with complex needs or challenging behaviour
- Driver with access to a vehicle
