Main duties of the job
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Diagnose and treat a variety of acute and chronic health conditions
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Develop personalised care plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Educate patients on health management, medication use, and preventive care strategies
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and organisational standards
- Stay updated with the latest medical research, anatomy knowledge, and clinical practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes

We are a EMIS Web and Paper light Practice and part of WestKnowsley Primary Care Network.
Our medical team is currently made up of 2 Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 Senior Clinical Pharmacist, 1 ANP, 1 GP Registrar and 1 prescribing Practice Nurse. We are supported by PCN Pharmacists, GPs, Mental Health Nurses, Physiotherapists, SPLW and Care-Coordinators. We hold monthly practice meetings, partners meetings, Vulnerable Adult, Safeguarding and GSF Meetings. We are passionate and proud to be a Training practice and would welcome applications from GP trainers.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent qualification)
- Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (V300)
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Competence in history taking, clinical assessment, and decision-making
- Postgraduate modules in minor illness / minor injury management
- Qualification or training in long-term condition management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD)
- Experience or certification in primary care / GP surgery
- Teaching, mentoring, or leadership qualification
Experience
- Experience of working within a nursing team
- Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients
- Experience of working in a GP practice
