A leading global construction consultancy is seeking an IOSH Approved Qualified Trainer to deliver a CDM Principal Designer and Design Risk Management training course. The course is accredited by both the APS and IOSH. This is a dual role, where you will be trained and developed to work as a CDM Principal Designer when not delivering training.

Training Duties:

  • You will be responsible for delivering an APS and IOSH accredited Principal Designer and Design Risk Management course to professionals across the construction and built environment sectors.

CDM Principal Designer Duties:

  • Providing Principal Designer services in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2015 across a range of construction projects.
  • Preparing, co-ordinating and distributing relevant Health & Safety Information to other design & project team members.
  • Ensuring Designer compliance.
  • Reviewing Construction Phase Plans.
  • Attending Design & Project Meetings as required throughout projects.
  • Conducting site H&S inspections and audits.
  • Overseeing preparation and production of Pre-Construction Information.
  • Identifying regional business development opportunities generally and assisting with the growth of Client base.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current developments in construction legislation and associated legal requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • IOSH Approved Qualified Trainer status is essential.
  • To be eligible to deliver an IOSH course, you must hold TechIOSH status as a minimum.
  • Be up to date with your continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Hold a level 3 adult training qualification i.e. AET, CET, DET or has completed the IOSH Train the Trainer course.
  • Have two years’ substantial face-to-face training experience.

Beneficial but not essential:

  • A member of APS, IOSH or working towards.
  • NEBOSH National / Construction Certificates or working towards.
  • CDM knowledge.
  • Previous Principal Designer (PD) experience is not essential, although any existing experience within PD or CDM consultancy would be advantageous.

This IOSH Approved Trainer with development opportunity position offers flexibility through hybrid working, with regional travel required and occasional travel further afield. The role is paying £40k-£50k plus training, pension, medical insurance, cycle to work scheme and more.
