A leading global construction consultancy is seeking a CDM Principal Designer who is also an IOSH Approved Trainer. This is a dual role, where in addition to working as a CDM Principal Designer there is a requirement to deliver an APS and IOSH approved course. Course delivery is approximately 10-15 times per year.

CDM Principal Designer Duties:

  • Providing Principal Designer services in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2015 across a range of construction projects.
  • Preparing, co-ordinating and distributing relevant Health & Safety Information to other design & project team members.
  • Ensuring Designer compliance.
  • Reviewing Construction Phase Plans.
  • Attending Design & Project Meetings as required throughout projects.
  • Conducting site H&S inspections and audits.
  • Overseeing preparation and production of Pre-Construction Information.
  • Identifying regional business development opportunities generally and assisting with the growth of Client base.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current developments in construction legislation and associated legal requirements.

Training Duties:

You will be responsible for delivering an APS and IOSH approved course to professionals across the construction and built environment sectors.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a PD or CDM consultancy role.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. IOSH, APS or working towards.
  • IOSH Approved Trainer status.
  • Hold a level 3 adult training qualification i.e. AET, CET, DET or has completed the IOSH Train the Trainer course.
  • Have two years’ substantial face-to-face training experience.
  • Be up to date with your continuing professional development (CPD).

Beneficial but not essential:

  • NEBOSH National / Construction Certificates or working towards.

This CDM Principal Designer plus IOSH Approved Trainer position offers flexibility through hybrid working, with regional travel required and occasional travel further afield. The role is paying £60k-£65k plus pension, medical insurance, cycle to work scheme and more.
