A global developer operating across retail, convention and exhibition venues, offices and service spaces, is seeking a Health and Safety Manager for its shopping complex in London. This dynamic, mixed-use complex features a wide range of facilities, including retail units, dining venues, cinemas, leisure attractions, parking facilities, and more. As the Health and Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the company Health and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and industry best practices. You will work closely with the Head of Risk Management and cross-functional teams to identify risks, implement controls and promote a culture of safety across all operations. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management System. Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health, safety, fire safety and environmental legislation. Support and manage risk assessments, audits, and investigations to proactively reduce workplace hazards. Drive initiatives to ensure the continued certification of ISO45001 and ISO14001. Develop and deliver annual budgets and long-term forecasts related to health and safety risk management. Propose, oversee, and deliver key maintenance and capital projects linked to risk mitigation. Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and carry out fire evacuation drills and routine Cause and Effect testing, ensuring all findings are documented and actions taken to resolve identified issues and implement recommendations. Work with internal teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure employee engagement. Experience Proven experience in health and safety management, ideally within public environments or high-footfall locations. This could have been gained in wide ranging backgrounds including retail, sporting facilities, or local authority sectors amongst others. Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation and best practices. Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards. Demonstrable experience in managing teams and/or colleagues. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage budgets and forecast expenditures. Qualifications NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. IOSH Managing Safely. Proficient computer skills required.
