Fire Officer required to support the delivery of effective fire safety management across a portfolio of facilities, including high-risk nuclear sites. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation, promoting fire safety awareness and maintaining robust fire prevention and emergency response arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Regular travel across the Midlands and North West, with occasional travel outside the region as required.
  • Develop and maintain fire safety policies and procedures in line with UK legislation and nuclear sector regulations.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and manage and reduce risks within defined timeframes.
  • Oversee fire detection and suppression systems, ensuring regular maintenance and compliance.
  • Deliver fire safety training, drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
  • Liaise with internal teams, contractors and external regulators on fire safety matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Promote a strong culture of fire safety awareness.
  • Work closely with facilities teams to embed fire safety requirements.
  • Provide fire safety advice across building design, refurbishment and construction projects.
  • Support the installation, testing and maintenance of fire alarm, emergency lighting and access control systems.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Inspector) or FPA Level 4 certificate in intermediate fire risk assessment or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving license.

Experience

  • Experience in fire safety within facilities management and/or high-risk environments.
