Health & Safety Consultant / Senior Health & Safety Consultant (CDM / Principal Designer) to join a growing consultancy supporting clients across a range of construction and development projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to provide practical advice and guidance to clients and project teams, helping to manage risk, improve standards and support the safe delivery of projects.
Working across a variety of sectors, you will collaborate with clients, designers, contractors and other project stakeholders on projects including commercial, residential, infrastructure, refurbishment and specialist developments.
This role would suit a Health & Safety professional looking to expand their consultancy experience, develop their CDM and Principal Designer expertise, or take the next step in their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
- Provide Health & Safety and CDM 2015 advice to clients, designers and project teams.
- Support Principal Designer duties and design risk management activities.
- Review and assess health and safety documentation, including pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
- Undertake site inspections, audits and monitoring visits.
- Prepare clear reports, identifying risks and providing practical recommendations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Support tender submissions and contribute to the continued development of the service.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- IOSH membership or working towards professional membership (Tech IOSH, Grad IOSH or equivalent).
Experience
- Experience providing Health & Safety advice within construction or the wider built environment.
- A good understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and Principal Designer responsibilities.
- Experience undertaking inspections, audits and producing professional reports.
- Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting Principal Designer services.
- ISO 45001 auditing experience.
- Experience within infrastructure, engineering, rail, energy or other complex project environments.
- Commitment to continued professional development and progression towards Chartered status.
