A leading Registered Building Control Approver is seeking experienced Registered Building Inspectors (Class 3G and 3H) to join its expanding team in either Plan Checking or Site Inspection-focused roles. These are remote/home-based positions, available to candidates anywhere in the UK. Plan Checker (Building Control)

Ideal for senior RBIs who enjoy the technical, regulatory and analytical aspects of Building Control at a high level. Responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing complex plans, specifications and supporting documentation for compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Providing expert technical guidance to clients, architects and developers.
  • Assessing complex and higher-risk projects across a varied portfolio.
  • Supporting clients and project teams throughout the regulatory approval process.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and customer service.

Building Inspector (Site Inspection)

Ideal for experienced professionals who prefer a strong site-based focus and direct client engagement on complex developments. Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking site inspections across a diverse range of complex construction projects.
  • Assessing compliance with Building Regulations throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Providing technical advice to contractors, developers and design teams on compliance matters.
  • Producing clear, concise and accurate inspection reports.
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

  • Registered Building Inspector (RBI) with Class 3G and/or Class 3H registration.
  • Strong additional specialist competencies are highly desirable.

Experience

  • Advanced technical knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Proven experience within Building Control, Registered Building Control Approvers, Local Authority Building Control or similar high-level compliance environment.
  • Experience managing complex and higher-risk building projects.

Salary

  • Plan Checker: £90,000–£110,000 plus car allowance and benefits
  • Building Inspector: £85,000–£105,000 plus car allowance and benefits
