The role
We are a busy, fast-paced kitchen looking for a dedicated and organised Senior Kitchen Porter to join our team.
As a Senior KP, you will play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and supporting our chefs during service.
Key Responsibilities
- Kitchen Support: Ensure chefs have a continuous supply of clean pots, pans, plates, and utensils during prep and service.
- Hygiene & Cleanliness: Keep all kitchen areas, wash-up stations, and equipment spotless and compliant with food safety regulations.
- Waste
Management: Take full charge of managing the bin and waste storage area, ensuring waste is sorted correctly, recycling guidelines are followed, and the area remains clean and organised.
- Teamwork: Assist the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams with general duties and deliveries as needed.
- Leadership: Help supervise and support all porters, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
- Rota Management: Take charge of creating and managing the kitchen porter rota, ensuring optimal shift coverage.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong work ethic with high attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure.
- Physical fitness, as the role involves heavy lifting and standing for long periods.
- A proactive attitude towards waste management and maintaining environmental standards.
