Location: The Haven, Victoria Road, Hartlepool

Contract Type: Initially 6 months for 6-8 hours per week

Salary: £13.00 per hour; monthly clinical supervision costs are met by employer

About Us: The Haven is a registered Charity in Hartlepool and has been a lifeline for local young people since 2004 offering free, confidential counselling to those aged 11–25. Our team is committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where young people can explore their feelings, build resilience, and thrive.

The Role: Working to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and The Haven's policies and procedures, you will provide one-to-one, face-to-face, weekly counselling to young people experiencing a range of emotional challenges - including anxiety, low mood, identity issues, family conflict, and school-related stress.

Essential Criteria:

  • Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above)/Foundation degree (FdA) in Counselling (Level 5)
  • Currently on the BACP Register and working towards BACP accreditation
  • Minimum 2-year post-qualification experience
