This role supports THW’s mission to provide safe accommodation and refuge for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. The Maintenance Multi‑trade Operative ensures that properties are maintained to a high standard, offering a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Cary out general plumbing maintenance and repairs
- Undertake carpentry and joinery tasks
- Perform basic painting & decorating
- Respond to day‑to‑day maintenance requests
- Conduct regular inspections of fixtures, fittings, and building fabric
- Maintain health & safety
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade
- Clean, full UK driving licence
- Basic Health & Safety training
- Willingness and ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check
The ideal candidate will have several years’ practical multi‑trade maintenance experience in occupied residential settings, a proven track record of reactive repairs and regular maintenance work, and excellent communication skills.
