Principal’s Personal Assistant
Full Time/Permanent (36 hours 40 minutes per week, term time plus 3 weeks) to commence as soon as possible.
Monday to Friday: 8.00am - 4.20pm. On Wednesdays, working hours will be 9.10am - 5.30pm due to attendance at SLT meetings, with an unpaid 1-hour lunch break.
Salary: Points 25‑29 of the School Support Staff pay spine currently £36,363 - £39,862 pa. Term time plus 3 weeks (42 weeks per year) actual salary £33,853 - £37,111 pa.
About the role
This role supports a new Principal in a secondary academy, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Principal’s office and contributing to effective leadership.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for the Principal, managing competing priorities, coordinating complex diaries, and ensuring the timely delivery of high‑quality administrative support.
- Take minutes at SLT and other key meetings.
- Work collaboratively with the wider administrative functions of the school, ensuring efficient management of day‑to‑day operations.
- Provide cover for other administrative roles as required to ensure continuity of service across the academy.
- Maintain confidentiality, tact, discretion, and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive information and a range of stakeholders.
