Purpose of the Job The FI team is recruiting for a Senior Underwriter to join a profitable and growing business line. The role will have both personal and collective responsibility for supporting the expansion and profitability of this portfolio as the team is positioned for growth. The individual will benefit from exposure to a broad selection of risks across the 3 lines of FI cover across a broad spectrum of territories. They will be working on lead and follow business whilst having the opportunity to develop in an environment that offers increasing opportunities for our employees and where innovation, expertise and empowerment are fostered. The position involves underwriting business in line with Financial Lines appetite as well as developing and maintaining relationships with London and International Brokers and clients. Job Responsibilities & Competence Support local leadership in growth and understanding of product, market, and strategy Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet planned underwriting results, through proactive account review, analysis of underwriting trends, and improvement plans to maintain profitability. Negotiate account participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with brokers. Underwrite in line with Underwriting Authorities, Guidelines, Rules, and Principles. Work closely with the Head of FI to drive development opportunities and achieve a balanced portfolio. Drive development and execution of FI underwriting and marketing strategies, delivering growth strategy to London-based brokers. Contribute to development of new products and geographic territories for expansion of the FI book without losing focus on profitability. Proactively support retention of existing business through market and one-on-one meetings with our Insureds / potential Insureds. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Brokers & Insureds, including overseas travel as needed. Support coaching, training, and development of Underwriting Assistants, Assistant Underwriters, and Underwriters. Stay updated on claims development within the FI book and liaise with the claims team as necessary. Contribute to periodic reporting of Underwriting results. Ensure accurate policy documentation and maintain filing through collaboration with Operations and Modelling teams. Qualifications and Capabilities 10+ years of relevant market experience as a broker, underwriter, client, or reinsurer. Willingness to broaden knowledge of Financial Institutions through learning. Strong process management discipline. Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of global current affairs relevant to the role. Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills. Experience Over 10 years of underwriting experience within the FI marketplace. Deep understanding of the insurance market and financial institutions. Technical expertise in wording, regulatory environment, and financial analysis. #J-18808-Ljbffr
