This is a permanent, term time only role, initially working 7.30am – 9.00am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday PLUS 11.45am – 1.30pm on a Thursday and Friday. In total this equates to 9.5 hours a week. There could be flexibility on the breakfast club days and hours, plus an opportunity to increase to 5 mornings in the future. There may also be opportunities to cover the After School Club playworker sessions.
Breakfast Club Playworker Responsibilities:
We are looking for a playworker who can bring fun, enthusiasm, professionalism and drive to our setting.
Your responsibilities will include: –

Helping prepare and deliver quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment as per the timetable

Providing comprehensive care for the children
-
Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment
-
Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met

Meet and greet the children on arrival

Administering first aid, when necessary
-
Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities
-
Facilitating good communication with all team members, parents, children and school

Undertaking appropriate and relevant training

Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure

Working within the framework of the school’s policies and procedures
Midday Assistant Responsibilities:
Successful applicants will perform a variety of roles including:

Ensuring the safety and welfare of all children, in all relevant areas, at all times, during the lunchtime period.

Setting up the school dinner hall for lunchtime, including moving and setting up furniture
-
Monitoring and supporting children in the dinner hall to ensure an orderly and efficient dinner service. Respect and good behaviour of the children is essential.

Clearing up the dinner hall after lunchtime, including cleaning the floor and surfaces

Helping maintain a safe and fun environment in the dinner hall.

Helping maintain a safe and fun environment during outside lunchtime play

Supervise outside play and wet break where relevant.
