We have opportunities for full- and part-time KitchenAssistants to work in our busy school.

Working days and hours

Full-time: 07:30 to 16:30 Mondays to Fridays on a year round basis
OR
Part-time: 10:00 to 14:00 Mondays to Fridays during Term-time, i.e. 22 hours per week (with the opportunity to do extra hours if you are available)

These positions are offered on a permanent contract.

Responsibilities

Reporting to: the Chef

  • Carrying out the preparation, cooking and portioning of food to the kitchen’s high standards of quality and quantity, as directed.
  • Washing and drying crockery; filling and emptying dishwashers.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, including surfaces, walls and floors, sanitising, etc.
  • Complying with all legal aspects implemented and monitored by the Food and Hygiene Regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act and Fire Regulations.
  • Carrying out any other ad hoc duties appropriate to the role, as directed by the Deputy Chef or the Chef.
  • Applicants must be hard-working, energetic,cheerful andable to work well within alarge team.

Salary and Benefits

£26,645 (actual gross annual salary forfull-timeposition, equating to an hourly rate of £12.81 (reviewed every April). This salary is based on a 40-hour working week plus 1 hour per day paid for lunch and breaks, and 38 days holiday plus bank holidays).

£12,104 (actual gross annual salary forpart-timeposition, equating to an hourly rate of £12.81 (reviewed every April). This salary is based on a 22-hour working week, during term-time only, and 37 days holiday plus bank holidays pro-rated ). Timesheet additional hours worked.

Rate of Pay: £14.36 per hour including holiday pay. The hourly rate is calculated to include statutory holiday entitlement at 12.07%.

Physically fit and able to carry kitchen equipment: large saucepans, buckets, trays of food, etc.
Able to travel easily to Barnes, London SW13 (Barnes Bridge or Barnes train stations; Hammersmith underground station)
Excellent time keeping skills

Ability to communicate clearly and confidently
Presentable and tidy appearance
Conscientious, well-organised and reliable
Health and Safety awareness; Food Safety and Hygiene training
Capable of using initiative and being proactive
Ability to work and interact in an enthusiastic and friendly manner
Able to provide a high standard of customer service
Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the School

Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List check, overseas police check (where applicable) and appropriate Safeguarding and Prevent training

This role has the opportunity for regular contact with pupils and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
