Bolham Primary School are seeking a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. This role supports teaching, learning and pupil development across the school. The successful candidate will be able to teach across both KS1 and KS2. An interest in Physical Education and/or Outdoor learning would be desirable.
About the Role
Working under an agreed system of supervision, the HLTA will:
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes
- Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources
- Monitor, assess and record pupils' progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence
- Lead small‑group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies
- Contribute to out‑of‑school learning activities as required
Essential Qualities
- Experience working with children across key stages
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole‑class activities
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Desirable (but not Essential)
- Previous HLTA experience
- Willingness to undertake relevant training
- First Aid qualification
- Awareness of health and safety practices
Salary and Working Pattern
Contract: NEW – Salary: NJC GradeE (£30,518–£33,699) per annum. Pro‑rata salary between £7,063 (E16) and £7,799 (E22) gross per annum, dependent on agreed working pattern.
Working Pattern: Fixed‑term position, 10hours per week, 39weeks per year, until 31August2027. Normal hours on Friday 9:30am–3:30pm and two afternoons 1:15pm–3:30pm (times to be confirmed at interview).
