Salary: NJC Grade C: £25,989 - £26,403 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked). Please note that the pro-rata salary for this role is between £16,842 (C6) and £17,111 (C7) gross per annum (subject to change depending on agreed working pattern on appointment).
Working Pattern: One fixed term position and one permanent position working 28 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Monday to Friday).
Pilton Community College is looking to appoint two enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in the communication and interaction resource base (CAIRB). We have available one fixed term contract from September 2026 to August 2027 and one permanent position starting September 2026.
About the Role: The CAIRB is a specialised provision that supports pupils who are autistic to access the majority of their lessons within the main school. The CAIRB also supports pupils to understand their autism and provides some respite space if pupils become overwhelmed. You will be working directly with a small number of pupils, there are 12 on roll in the CAIRB. Your role will mostly involve building relationships with these pupils and supporting learning in lessons. You will assist the whole CAIRB team in providing a fully supportive learning environment for these students. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to be innovative, dynamic, and to put fresh ideas into practice in this popular, thriving school.
