Position Summary
Over the last 3 years we have been developing a range of enhanced onsite provisions that aim to support a particular area of need. This, our newest provision, caters for pupils with significant cognition and learning difficulties whilst providing them with access to a rich specialist curriculum within a mainstream setting. You will be working with a small class of KS3 pupils, supporting all learning with them every day. You will assist the teacher and HLTA to deliver some foundation subjects through topic work for them during the afternoons. In addition, these pupils have daily access to outdoor learning on our school farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Support a small class of KS3 pupils, providing daily assistance with all learning.
- Assist the teacher and HLTA in delivering foundation subjects through topic work in the afternoons.
- Facilitate daily outdoor learning sessions on the school farm.
- Support fundamental building blocks of reading, writing and maths for pupils working at around KS1 levels.
- Inspire, motivate, challenge and support students to ensure they make good progress and demonstrate respect for themselves, others, and the world around them.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience supporting pupils with significant cognition and learning difficulties.
- Experience in a primary or secondary setting.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure required.
Working Pattern and Salary
- Contract: Fixed term 28 hours per week, 39 weeks per year until 31st August 2027 (Monday to Friday).
- Salary: NJC Grade C, £25,989 - £26,403 per annum (pro‑rated to reflect hours and weeks worked).
