As HLTA working under an agreed system of supervision, you will:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes.
  • Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence.
  • Lead small-group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies.
  • Contribute to out-of-school learning activities as required.

As TA, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND.
  • Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions.
  • Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence.
  • Assisting with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompanying pupils on trips when required.
