Overview
Hemyock Primary School is seeking an inspirational Primary School Teacher to join our dedicated team in Year5 from November2026. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching and learning in line with the Teachers' Standards, creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment, and collaborating with support staff and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and teach engaging lessons tailored to pupils' individual needs.
- Lead by example to secure high standards of behaviour, motivation and achievement.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform planning and target‑setting.
- Report to parents and contribute to school improvement processes.
- Work collaboratively with support staff and colleagues across the school.
- Contribute to performance management, training and whole‑school initiatives.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT).
- Recent successful teaching experience in EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
- Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of high‑quality teaching and learning.
- Ability to teach pupils of all abilities and to use ICT effectively in lessons.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community.
- Experience leading a curriculum area.
- Excellent ICT skills and ability to contribute to policy development.
- Experience teaching across multiple primary key stages.
- Ability to organise extra‑curricular activities.

Salary and Contract
£32,916 - £51,048 per year (MPS - UPS). The position is a fixed‑term parental leave cover, 1.0FTE, 39weeks per year until 31August2027 (Monday to Friday). Salary will be paid pro‑rata to reflect hours and weeks worked.
This role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure.
