Salary: NJC Grade D: £26,824 - £28,598 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked). Please note that the pro-rata salary for this role is between £8,485 (D8) and £9,046 (D12) gross per annum (subject to change depending on agreed working pattern on appointment).
Working Pattern: This is a fixed term maternity cover position working 13 hours per week, 41 weeks per year until September 2027. The Harbour Schools Partnership are looking for a HR System Development Officer to join the team from October 2026.
About the Role: The HR Systems Development Officer will support the implementation and development of The Harbour Schools Partnership's new HR and Payroll system by ensuring that HR processes, workflows and user functionality are configured effectively and meet the operational needs of schools and Harbour Support services. The postholder will act as a key link between end users, the software implementation team and People team, helping to design, test and refine HR workflows and processes, support system development, pilot new functionality and assist with training and roll out across the Trust. This role is particularly suited to an experienced school administrator with a good understanding of HR and payroll processes who can bring an end-user perspective to the development of the system.
What We're Looking For:
- Essential qualities include:
- Understanding of key HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, contractual changes and employee records
- Experience of supporting HR and/or payroll administration processes
- Understanding of payroll administration processes
- Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of implementing new systems or processes
- Experience of testing new software or systems developments
- Understanding of NJC and education sector employment practices
