Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
Hemyock Primary School are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our school team. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging school environment. This role is likely to be based in our nursery in the first instance.
About the Role
Working under the guidance of teaching and senior staff, you will support learning in both the classroom and small-group settings. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND
- Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions
- Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
You will also assist with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can bring energy, compassion and commitment to the role. Essential qualities include:
- Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age
- Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant or equivalent
- Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning
- Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to relate well to both children and adults
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Knowledge of SEN practices and the national curriculum
- Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracy
