Main duties of the job:
- You will be part of the team providing a comprehensive community ultrasound service with direct referral access for General Practitioners across Sussex.
- Your main base will be The Harbour Medical Practice but you will be expected to travel to other local community settings and also oversee the set up of new clinic space.
- You will work as an autonomous practitioner, reporting on your own specialist workload and maintaining associated imaging records, ensuring that all duties are conducted in accordance with the Practice Mission statement.

Job responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dedicated Sonographer. You will bring both technical expertise and a kind, reassuring approach to every examination. You value accuracy, attention to detail and compassion. You will be able to confidently undertake and independently report Ultrasound images in the following areas:
- Abdomen - Including Liver, Gall Bladder, Abdominal Aorta, Pelvis, Urinary Tract - Kidneys, Bladder, Scrotum and Testes.

Person Specification:
- Experience or willingness to learn audit, research, or quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience working in a variety of clinical settings (e.g. hospital and community).
- Awareness of Safeguarding and Confidentiality.
- Teaching, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. BMUS, SoR).
- Knowledge of Emis Web.
Qualifications:
- HCPC registered or equivalent Sonographer with an appropriate post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound.
- Evidence of continued professional development and a commitment to further training.
