An exciting opportunity has arisen for new trustees to join our board at The Hamlet Charity.
New trustees will join a lively, committed and supportive team of people who provide guidance and strategic direction to the Charity.
Members of the board come from a range of professional backgrounds including some who have experience of disability.
We are currently seeking applications from those with professional skills in legal, property, social care, finance, or general strategic thinking.
However, we welcome applications from anyone who shares our passion and values and wants to make a positive contribution.
- No prior board experience required – we welcome first‑time board members and those looking to take the next step in their career.

What You’ll Do
- Attend six board meetings per year (6:30–8:00 PM) and the Annual General Meeting.
- Participate in a Trustee Away Day each November and one or two service visits or events annually.
- Review CEO reports, monthly accounts, and other board documents in advance.
- Contribute to financial planning and discuss general organisational work.
- Apply your skills to ensure strong governance, operational efficiency, and strategic impact.
Time Commitment
Moderate, with meetings roughly every other month plus occasional events and planning sessions.

The Hamlet Charity has been supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families for over 50 years.
We are now looking for new Trustees to help govern and support the organisation as we look ahead to the next 50 years.
Trustees play a vital role in guiding our strategy, supporting our leadership team, and ensuring we deliver the greatest possible impact for the children, young people and families we serve.
