A really important hire for us at The Halston. We’re looking for a General Manager, Restaurant and Bar, to lead Penny Blue and Bartons Yard. This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely loves hospitality. Someone who leads from the floor, builds a strong team, and takes real pride in the detail.

You’ll be leading the management and supervisory teams across both outlets, with full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the restaurant, bar and café. Working closely with our Executive Head Chef, and as part of our senior management team, you’ll play a key role in shaping standards, performance and the overall guest experience. The role reports into our Executive Head Chef, with regular visibility across the wider senior team.

The hotel side of the business is led by a dedicated Hotel General Manager, and our events operation is run in-house by a separate Events and Sales Manager. This role is very much focused on Food and Beverage, with responsibility for driving Penny Blue and Bartons Yard forward. You’ll also support duty management across the wider business when needed, including occasional cover.

It’s a busy, quality-led environment with a strong mix of hotel guests and local trade. There’s a real opportunity here to develop the team, raise standards and build something that stands out. We’re also keen to push towards industry recognition, including AA Rosettes, Michelin Guide listing and The Good Food Guide, so this would suit someone who enjoys that journey.

Salary in the region of £37,500 to £39,500 depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits. If you’re someone who cares about standards, people, and creating a place guests want to return to, we would love to hear from you.
