Role: Philanthropy Engagement Manager
Location: UK, Hybrid (minimum 1 day per week in HALO\’s Salisbury or London office)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (subject to a probationary period)
Salary: Circa 45k per annum, dependent on experience

Role Overview

The Philanthropy Engagement Manager will be a key member of the strategic philanthropy team, advancing HALO\’s ambitions by strengthening and growing a pipeline of individual donors. The role focuses on cultivating relationships with mid- to high-level supporters, securing five- and six-figure gifts, and delivering exceptional stewardship that reflects HALO\’s mission. Working closely with internal stakeholders and global teams, the postholder will design compelling donor experiences, from events to personalized communications.

The Philanthropy Engagement Manager will cultivate and steward a portfolio of donors, secure significant gifts, and support long-term strategic relationships. This high-impact role requires delivering against ambitious targets in a fast-paced environment, offering a chance to contribute to HALO\’s global impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of prospects to secure major gifts.
  • Support stewardship of donors, ensuring high-quality engagement at all stages.
  • Organize targeted philanthropy events and bespoke engagement opportunities.
  • Work with senior volunteers to identify and engage new donors.
  • Maintain accurate donor records using Salesforce.
  • Develop relationships with global stakeholders for proposals and impact reporting.
  • Collaborate with teams in the UK, USA, and globally to meet fundraising objectives.

Additional Details

This is a full-time role with a 40-hour workweek, operating from HALO\’s Wilton or London offices, with flexible arrangements considered. The closing date for applications is 7th September 2025. Minimum Requirements

  • At least three years managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals or similar philanthropic partnerships, with a record of securing significant gifts.
  • Ability to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts with strategic relationship management.
  • Resilient, goal-oriented, with a history of achieving targets.
  • Experience organizing bespoke engagement events.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy, and gravitas.
  • Strong understanding of donor networks and navigation skills.
  • Confident communicator inspiring support across diverse contexts.
  • Excellent written skills for proposals and reports.
  • Experience with fundraising databases like Salesforce.
  • Curiosity and understanding of philanthropic trends and HALO\’s mission.
  • Team player capable of working across time zones and independently.

Desirable Qualities

Experience in fundraising related to mine action, conflict resolution, or environment/conservation is desirable.
