Job Purpose: Support the delivery of HR operational excellence by driving project activities, with a clear focus on planning and execution of a HR Audit. Ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely execution under the direction of the Head of HR Operations & Compliance.

About the Role: The HR Projects Manager is a fixed term role to support the Head of HR Operations & Compliance and will involve working closely with a number of key stakeholders, including the People Services Team, International HRMs, Programme Teams, Central Departments and the wider HR Team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing the admin support required to gather information and conduct audits
- Advising on current best practices and legislation to support compliance and continuous improvement
- Tracking and closing off audit actions to maintain clear audit trails
- Reviewing existing policies, processes & SOPs
- Drafting new policies, processes & SOPs
- Reviewing existing variations of employment contracts
- Draft proposals for compliant employment contracting, considering the variations & complexities of the organisation and the jurisdictions HALO operate in, to ensure compliance
- Draft clear processes to manage visas, including sponsorship
- Support the review of the existing HRIS system (IRIS) and its potential capabilities
- Audit existing data availability and integrity
- Liaise with the relevant stakeholders and provide regular updates to the Head of HR Operations & Compliance
- In all aspects of your work ensure compliance with relevant legislation, GDPR / Data protection requirements and internal governance standards.
General: Uphold HALO's core values and standards, promoting its ethos and mission statement. Ensure familiarity with and adherence to all HALO policies and procedures, especially the code of conduct and safeguarding.
Key Internal contacts / relationships: HR and People Services Team, IHRMs, Safeguarding Team, Programme Managers, Regional Directors, IT, Finance and Compliance Teams.
Key external contacts / relationships: Legal and compliance consultants, external auditors, HR service providers, employment law advisors.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in HR, including HR Operations and HR generalist experience.
- Proven experience in contract design and HR compliance across UK and international contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects in complex, matrixed organisations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working with visa sponsorship, ideally including process set up.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the humanitarian or international development sectors.
- Working knowledge of HRIS implementation.
