*Job Overview*
We are looking for a Junior Chef or Commis Chef to join our established kitchen team. We already have two experienced chefs in place, so this role would suit someone developing their career who wants to build practical skills, confidence and responsibility within a supportive working kitchen.
We are not necessarily looking for the finished article. Attitude, reliability, hygiene, organisation and a genuine interest in producing good food are more important than an impressive job title.
*What we’re offering:*
The standard position is based on *37 contracted hours per week*, normally rostered across five days. Shifts will include a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend work, with straight and split shifts according to business requirements.
The salary is *£25,000–£29,000 per year*, depending on experience and existing skills, plus an equal share of customer tips.
For a suitable candidate who would prefer additional earning potential, we may agree a contract of up to 45 hours per week. Salary would be increased proportionately to reflect the additional contracted hours.
*What you’ll be doing:*
* Cooking fresh, tasty dishes to a high standard alongside a small team
* Helping keep the kitchen running smoothly day-to-day
* Taking pride in presentation and consistency
* Maintaining the usual food safety and hygiene standards (nothing more complicated than that!)
* Having input into menus and specials if you want to get creative

* Previous chef or cook experience in pubs, restaurants or catering
* Someone who enjoys working in a close-knit team and thrives in a busy kitchen
* A genuine passion for food, flavour and presentation
* Reliability and a positive, *can-do attitude*
