We're Hiring: Security Operations Specialist
Remote / Flexible
Permanent Contract
The Hacking Games is expanding its offensive security services capability, and we're looking for a Security Operations Specialist to sit at the intersection of client demand and expert delivery. This role is ideal for someone who understands how cybersecurity services are scoped and sold, but prefers the operational and commercial side of the engagement cycle rather than hands-on technical work. You will help ensure that the right work reaches the right experts, keeping the pipeline clean, well-scoped, and commercially viable.
What You'll Be Doing
- Opportunity Qualification
- Review inbound enquiries and partner referrals for offensive security services
- Assess scope, urgency, and commercial fit before technical resources are engaged
- Identify when opportunities are viable and when they should be declined
- Maintain a clean and organised pipeline
- Scoping & Commercial Support
- Gather the information required to scope security engagements
- Help prepare proposals and Statements of Work
- Work with delivery leadership on effort estimates and pricing
- Ensure scope, timelines, and margin expectations are clear before work begins
- Client & Partner Coordination
- Act as the primary contact during the pre-engagement stage
- Manage onboarding documentation, supplier forms, and partner portals
- Maintain professional communication with partners and clients
- Track opportunities and support business development follow-ups
- Delivery Handoff
- Ensure engagements are handed over to the delivery team with clear documentation
- Confirm resource availability before timelines are committed
- Flag potential scope creep or commercial risks early
What We're Looking For
- Security Awareness
- You don't need to be a practitioner, but you should understand:
- Penetration testing
- Red team and purple team engagements
- Vulnerability assessments
- Security testing scopes
- You should also be comfortable discussing a client's testing needs and knowing when to involve a technical expert.
- Sales Operations Experience
- Experience in sales operations, pre-sales, or services coordination
- Comfortable working with proposals, SOWs, and pipeline management
- Strong written communication with clients and partners
- Able to work with pricing frameworks and basic commercial models
- Personal Qualities
- Strong organisational and pipeline management skills
- Comfortable making judgement calls on opportunity qualification
- Calm and credible in client conversations
- Adaptable to a startup environment where processes evolve
- Nice to Have
- Experience in security consulting or managed security services
- Exposure to partner-led or channel sales models
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, Cyber Essentials
Why Join THG
The Hacking Games operates at the intersection of cybersecurity, adversary simulation, and talent development. You'll work closely with experienced security practitioners and technical leadership, helping ensure our engagements are well-scoped, commercially sound, and delivered to a high standard. This role also offers a clear pathway into senior sales or commercial leadership roles as the services business grows.
What This Role Is Not:
- This is not a penetration testing role
- This is not a delivery management role
- This is not a quota-driven sales job
- Instead, this role sits in the critical operational space between opportunity and delivery.
How to Apply
We're less interested in a long CV and more interested in where you've handled the messy middle of a services sales cycle. Send a short note describing:
- Where you've worked with security or technical services sales
- What you found challenging about qualifying and scoping work
