About the role
The repairs and maintenance teams at The Guinness Partnership are critical to our success. They provide day-to-day responsive repairs to our residents as well as the refurbishment of empty homes. We have a new opportunity for a Service Manager to join the Guinness Property Responsive Repairs Team. This is a full time, permanent role based in the Greater Manchester region. Reporting to the Repairs Delivery Manager, the Service Manager will support, develop and manage an area-based team of trade operatives, to ensure that our residents receive a quality and professional service. You will spend time visiting properties within your area, as well as spending time in the Oldham office, with the option to spend 1-2 days working from home.
What we are looking for
- You’ll not only have experience of managing, leading and developing operational teams, but you’ll also have up-to-date knowledge of building construction, repairs and safety legislation, with experience in a trade and the associated NVQ/C&G qualifications.
- A company van will be provided for work use therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
- You’ll also be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of motivating, managing and performance managing operational teams.
- Up to date knowledge of housing sector best practice and relevant legislation.
- Knowledge and experience of sub-contractor management.
- Experience of successfully delivering an excellent customer focussed repair service.
- Experience of repairs management information systems.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
Essential qualifications
- Relevant Technical qualification – trade NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- NVQ III First Line Management.
This position will require a basic DBS check, which will be paid for by The Guinness Partnership.
