About the role

The finance team at The Guinness Partnership plays a critical role in the success of the organisation. With an overall aim of ensuring Guinness has a strong financial base from which we can be a high performing organisation. We are recruiting for a Financial Accountant – Tax & Reporting. This is a full time, 35 hours per week, permanent role based at our Oldham, Bower House office. We are currently working to a hybrid working style. The overall purpose of the role is to assist in the delivery of a high-quality financial service in accordance with agreed timetables.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be able to demonstrate:

  • Essential: Experience of tax either in industry or practice, with strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements and ability to keep track of changes.
  • Understanding, analysing and communicating matters pertaining to Corporation Tax, CIS or VAT (specifically partial exemption) and the return processes.
  • Experience of working with external advisors and supporting the co-ordination, communication and cataloguing of requests.
  • Good experience and technical working knowledge relevant to statutory financial statements preparation.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in reconciliation.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
  • Desirable: Proven experience of leading on the preparation of financial statements for audit and the application of accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials.
  • Relevant experience within the social housing sector.

Qualifications

  • Essential: CCAB or CIMA qualified.
