JOB DESCRIPTION

The Guinness Partnership is a resident-focused, national organisation, providing housing across England. We were established in 1890 to make a positive difference to people\’s lives, and today we own and manage nearly 70,000 homes, providing services to nearly 160,000 residents.

We currently have a new opportunity for an Information Governance Manager to join our team in Oldham.

As the Information Governance Manager and Deputy Data Protection Officer, you will lead the Information Governance team to promote and develop the effective and lawful use of data and information throughout Guinness.

You will lead the team to deal with legislative compliance, ensuring appropriate responses to Information Rights and access to information requests. You will be the lead on complaint responses in relation to information governance and investigate and provide advice on information security incidents of a high risk or complex nature. You will also manage the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements and Building Safety Legislation provision of information requirement.

What we\’re looking for

We know that how we do things is just as important as what we do, so you\’ll not only have experience of dealing with and advising on Information Governance matters, but you\’ll have the ability to communicate complex concepts/legislation to non-technical staff.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of dealing with and advising on Information Governance matters.
  • Experience of working within a Data Protection function.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date data protection legal requirements and best practice.
  • Proven experience of dealing with Information Rights requests and information security breaches, including liaising with the ICO.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts/legislation to non-technical staff.

Desirable:

  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Knowledge of social housing.

Essential qualifications:

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).
  • Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).

Desirable:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent, or higher.
