Overview
Vacancies for Personal Assistant/ Support Worker. Location: Northampton, NN4. Hourly rate: 20/h. Weekday mornings and evenings – 30–40 hours per week.
About the Role
The employer is an 18-year-old young man with autism and learning difficulties. The role focuses on support with self-care skills and daily routines, particularly around preparing for school/college and evening routines, helping him to develop independence in a structured and reassuring way. The PA will work alongside existing support strategies and follow guidance provided by the family and professionals.
Main Duties
- Support with morning routines, including preparing for school/college
- Encouragement and prompting with self-care skills (e.g. dressing, hygiene)
- Support with bath time and evening routines
- Help maintain structure, routines and transitions
- Provide calm reassurance and positive encouragement
- Promote independence while ensuring safety
- Work consistently with strategies already in place
- Support with the employer’s attendance at occasional, local outpatient appointments

About You
You will be empathetic, patient, trustworthy, and emotionally resilient, with a calm and reassuring presence. You respect boundaries, value independence, and understand the importance of dignity and autonomy in care.
You will have the right to work in the UK, be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check, and provide references.
Experience in care, mental health support, trauma-informed practice, first aid, or supporting people with chronic illness or neurodivergence is desirable but not essential.
