Guide Dogs – Access Assistant

Role Overview

Guide Dogs is looking for a motivated and thoughtful Access Assistant to support a Training Dog Support Coordinator (TDSC) in the Redbridge office. The role is part-time, 21 hours per week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9‑5.

Responsibilities

  • Make phone calls on behalf of the TDSC
  • Create and maintain data and spreadsheets
  • Support the TDSC in volunteer interviews
  • Take minutes in meetings and collate them for future use
  • Assist with off‑site activities to recruit new fosterers
  • Provide person‑centred, proactive one‑to‑one support, adapting to individual needs

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Evidence of dealing with confidential issues sensitively and with total integrity
  • Positive team player, flexible and thorough in ways of working
  • Proven ability to use initiative and work effectively under pressure
  • Good interpersonal skills with a close working relationship
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
