The Guardian Foundation is an independent charity whose purpose is to promote access to liberal journalism.
We work directly with journalists, news organisations, audiences and educators, in schools and across communities to enable change in two priority areas:
- News & Media Literacy - enhancing people’s ability to evaluate information critically
- Voice & Agency - facilitating opportunities for inclusion in media
We are building a future where quality journalism reflects the society it serves, and where individuals are empowered to make informed decisions in an evolving digital world.
The opportunity
The Guardian Foundation is seeking an experienced educational curriculum consultant for an initial 10 - 15 day engagement over six months to guide the evolution of our award-winning key stage 2–4 news literacy resources in response to the new English national curriculum and the Francis Review.
The successful candidate will conduct a comprehensive audit, develop a strategic alignment roadmap, and deliver training to ensure our content meets upcoming statutory expectations for media literacy, SEND inclusion, oracy, and the PISA MAIL framework.
Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in senior curriculum leadership or high-level instructional design, deep expertise in the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF), and the ability to translate complex statutory jargon into actionable briefs for resource production.
