Based across the UK but with a large logistics hub in Coleshill, GRW Talent’s client is a world leader in door opening solutions. They design, manufacture, supply, install, and maintain automatic swinging, sliding, and revolving pedestrian doors across the UK. Part of a well-known multi-national group, the business continues to grow from strength to strength in the UK and internationally. A strong order book and increasing demand for their diverse product range means they now need to recruit a Logistics Manager.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Logistics Manager will take full ownership of the logistics strategy and operations across both Indirect Sales and Install channels. You will lead the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective movement of materials, finished goods, and equipment. You will shape the performance, culture, and maturity of the logistics operation, overseeing the internal fleet and managing third‑party logistics partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure logistics capability, capacity, and performance align with business growth and operational demand.
- Oversee all transport planning, scheduling, and daily logistics activity for Indirect Channels and Install operations.
- Manage the end‑to‑end movement of goods from our Manufacturing Site to customers, installation teams, and regional hubs.
- Implement fleet performance tracking (fuel usage, route efficiency, utilisation, driver performance).
- Manage relationships with external logistics providers, including carriers and freight partners.
- Negotiate pricing, service levels, and commercial terms to ensure strong value and performance.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Planning, Installations, and Warehouse teams to ensure alignment of priorities and seamless operational flow.
- Enhance planning accuracy, reduce waste, and increase overall logistics maturity.
We are looking for a proven Logistics Manager and a professional with a strong understanding of transportation, both in-house fleet and 3PL / outsourced freight forwarding. This will suit candidates working in busy volume / fast-paced backgrounds. Experience in logistics management of finished goods, spare parts, delivery of material or product to site or other internal hubs is taken as a given.
You will need a deep working knowledge of fleet operations, 3PL management, route optimisation, and transport compliance and a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks. Candidates will have the ability to lead, coach, and develop logistics teams, including drivers, coordinators, and operational support staff and possess strong internal and external stakeholder engagement.
