Reporting to the Head of Brand, you will be a highly motivated and experienced Social Media & Content Manager with a passion for beauty. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and you will be able to think creatively and solve problems.

About the Role

As the Social Media and Content Manager , you will grow The Beauty Crop’s social channels (besides TikTok), building an engaged audience of super fans. With your finger on the pulse of what’s happening in social, you’ll lead the growth and rebranding of our brand social channels delivering engaging social strategy and creating content to deliver this vision.

You will play a key part in shaping and executing our wider social media strategy with particular focus on Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and new/emerging platforms, with a strong focus on building and nurturing an engaged online community. You will have the opportunity to bring fresh, creative ideas to the table, spearhead content creation, and develop strategies to foster meaningful interactions with our audience.

Your work will ensure that we maintain a dynamic and impactful presence on social media channels whilst expanding our reach and cultivating an active, loyal community.

The role will consist of the following core responsibilities:

Strategy & Tactical Execution Planning

  • Monitor social media trends and platform updates, always looking for the latest trend and opportunities for innovation.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Creative, Product) to align social media efforts with broader brand and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies & tactics to build and engage our audience on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube, focusing on community building, audience growth, and engagement.
  • Create, schedule, and manage engaging posts that align with the brand’s voice and marketing campaigns.

Content Creation and Management

  • Lead the social content creation strategy and execution including owning the production and curation of high-quality content (images, videos, reels, carousels, etc.) that resonates with our target audience and reflects the brand’s voice and aesthetic.
  • Create shoot briefs & direct external content collaborators.
  • Feel comfortable and confident creating content for social channels when needed.
  • Maintain a consistent content calendar and ensure timely execution of posts, campaigns, and collaborations.
  • Test new tools, features, and strategies to optimise social media content and maximise audience reach.
  • Stay up-to-date with platform trends, algorithm changes, and industry best practices to ensure content remains innovative and competitive.

Community Building and Engagement

  • Actively engage with followers and act as the primary point of contact for online community interactions responding to comments, DMs, and tagged posts to build meaningful relationships and foster loyalty.
  • Develop and execute strategies for user-generated content (UGC) and community-driven campaigns that encourage participation and interaction.
  • Think outside the box and come up with fresh ideas to engage with our community beyond social media IRL.
  • Manage our broadcast channels, driving a sense of community with our customers and partnering with CRM to be aligned with our loyalty program.
  • Host interactive features on Instagram such as polls, Q&A sessions, and live streams to deepen community connections.

Analytics and Optimisation

  • Monitor and analyse social media performance metrics (engagement rates, follower growth, impressions, etc.) to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Use insights to refine strategies, improve content performance, and grow the community, reporting results and insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare weekly reporting to share progress, results, and recommendations with key stakeholders.

Collaborations and Partnerships

  • Identify and build relationships with influencers, brand advocates, and partners to amplify the brand’s presence and reach on Instagram.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support product launches, campaigns, and events through Instagram initiatives.

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must possess a highly entrepreneurial mindset with a growth-oriented attitude. They should be comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of our direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, and wholesale/retail business. The ideal candidate will have a strong willingness to take calculated risks and demonstrate a bias for action, actively contributing to every aspect of the business. They must be a strategic thinker capable of balancing short-term goals with long-term vision.

A customer-focused approach is key, with an understanding of our target audience and a passion for beauty and cosmetics. Staying informed about the latest trends, cosmetic chemistry, and new beauty styles will be essential. The candidate should also be creative and innovative, able to anticipate changing consumer and customer preferences, and respond proactively.

This role is for you if you have:

  • 2-3+ years experience in social media and content creation in the beauty industry, with a strong portfolio or examples of your work.
  • Passion for social media, knowing what’s trending, what’s next, and what works.
  • Proven experience creating & editing content (video & stills) in our brand TOV.
  • A deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, along with the ability to leverage these insights to create successful campaigns.
  • Confident presenter, happy to appear in our social content.
  • Strong eye for detail, highly organised and proactive.
  • Great time management skills, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt easily to changes in direction, deadlines, and project execution.
  • Calm under pressure and a positive attitude.
  • A passion for beauty and skincare, with a keen eye for emerging trends in the industry.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining adaptable and proactive in responding to evolving trends and consumer preferences.
  • Must be able to work 3 days a week in our West London office, and 2 remote.
